4876BR Job Title Purch Mgr - Commodity Business Unit Automotive Staff - Purchasing Job Description This position can be located in Koblenz, Germany or Livonia, MI.
This position is responsible for the management of a group of commodity buyers to effectively develop, monitor and implement purchasing strategies based on cost models and total landed costs analysis to support various business requirements of the Electronics product line.
This position works cross-functional teams and/or within a matrixed organization and across all regions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Management of all purchasing cost estimation process for new business quotations.
Establish, monitor and meet objectives in support to the business strategic action plans; lead team of buyers and multifunctional teams; ensure carrier development of team and effective working practices are implemented; manage global performance and savings to assigned commodities; develop commodity strategy and drive execution.
Commercially responsible for negotiations, in agreement with product line; present recommendations to senior management and manage global sourcing pipeline.
Must be able to independently troubleshoot issues/concerns and determine course of action.
Education Requirements Bachelor Degree required, prefer course of study in supply chain management or other related field relevant to Purchasing.
Experience and Skill Requirements Must have at least six years experience within direct purchasing, preferably 6 to 10 years including experience negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post-negotiations.
Prior purchasing experience must involve responsibility for spend in excess of $30 million.
Must have prior experience with global or regional sourcing processes/decision making.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); have a high level of independent judgment; excellent verbal and written communication; analytical and leadership skills.
Work experience in manufacturing and/or automotive industry highly preferred with work experience in purchasing function in mfg/automotive the most desirable.
