The mission of the Office of Disability Affairs (ODA) is to increase independence, opportunities, community participation, safety, and wellness for persons with disabilities in the City of Detroit, and to ensure inclusion, representation, and equity for persons with disabilities as it relates to City employment, programs, and services.
The Community and Government Liaison is a full-time position that reports to the ODA Director and serves as a vital link between the city government and the local disability community.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
